Holidays, Tours & Other Information

The Main Reading Room and History of Medicine Reading Room are closed for Federal holidays and the Saturday preceding a Monday holiday. For a complete list, go to the Holiday Closings for NLM Reading Rooms at http://www.nlm.nih.gov/about/holiday.html

Tours of NLM leave at 1:30 P.M. Monday - Friday from the Visitors Center (Lobby of Building 38A -- The Lister Hill Center). To arrange a group tour, please call 301-496-6308.

For information about special hours and emergency closings: call 1-888-FINDNLM (1-888-346-3656) or 301-594-5983.

For information about bad weather, visit the Office of Personnel Management Current Status at http://www.opm.gov/status/. If the status on Monday-Friday is "delayed arrival", the library will open at 10:30 am. If the status is "early dismissal", the library will close at 3:00 P.M.
